About the event
Putting together a classical concert can be quite a daunting task. With a wealth of exquisite compositions to choose from, I often find myself tempted to include them all! I frequently ponder whether we should focus on a series like Beethoven, which features multiple movements, or if we should select pieces around a specific theme, like our recent concert dedicated to water.
For this occasion, I chose selections that do not adhere to a multi-movement structure or a particular theme. Instead, these are simply breathtaking compositions. While some pieces, like 'Firebird', are widely recognized, others, such as 'Procession of the Nobles' and 'Asturias', might be less familiar to many of you. Each of these selections represents remarkable works of classical music, and I sincerely hope you enjoy every one of them.
Sincerely,
Sandy Weisner, Director
Festival Prelude (Alfred Reed)
Procession of the Nobles (Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov)
